Motoring Weekly – Eps 138 – 146

Motoring Weekly attended Day One of the Sydney Harbour Concours d”Elegance over the weekend to see some amazingly rare cars. We interviewed several of the owners – plus an unusual interviewee!

Motoring Weekly – Eps 134-137

I attended the Classic Rally Club “Ire of Man TT” Rally recently that worked it’s way over two days from Nimmitabel to Merimbula and then back to Canberra via Dalgety.

Motoring Weekly – Eps 129-133

Over the weekend, we attended the HSRCA “Return to Goulburn” race meeting at One Raceway, where we interviewed several drivers.

The HSRCA is the Historic Sports Racing Car Association of NSW whose members maintain a significant number of heritage racing cars – many designed and built in Australia. They collaborate with other racing associations to organise several race meetings a year.

One Raceway is the new name for Wakefield Park, a circuit outside Goulburn. The new owners have spent a small fortune on redesigning the whole complex to make it a spectators circuit – you can see the whole track from one place!

Motoring Weekly – Ep 128 Gerringong Lions Motor Fest

The latest episode of Motoring Weekly has been published with an interview with the Gerringong Lions Club. The Club hosts their annual Motor Fest every February.

This year the event will be held on the 15th, a Saturday, on the Michael Cronin Oval in town.

I speak with Keith Watson from the Lions Club about the preparation for the event.

Motoring Weekly – Ep 126 The 2024 HSRCA Summer Festival

The Historic Sports and Racing Car Association of NSW held their Summer Festival at Sydney Motorsports Park. It took place over the weekend of the 30th November.

I attended the first day to see how the event was run. The last time I attended a Summer Festival was back in 2020. At that time, we were under COVID rules and the attendance was low. This happened despite the circuit being able to cater for large crowds. This time though, the crowds enjoyed a great day of racing.

I used this event to test microphones and to do an important interview. However, I did record some sounds of the day. This podcast is about the Association and its importance to Australian historic racing.
